Yes, we have several locations on property that would be perfect for your ceremony!
We have a list of amazing vendors that we know and love, and would prefer you work with them. If you would like to bring in a vendor that is not on our list, please let us know.
We customize our proposals for each couple, and typically include:
- Reservation of the five cottages for three nights
- Reservation of the event space (one day for four hours)
- A standard white tent with siding (in case of inclement weather) and lights
- Standard tables and chairs
We have one additional vacation rental a few blocks away that can sleep 8 more guests. For the rest, we will provide you with a list of the best hotels and resorts in the area.
Yes, you and/or your guests are welcome to extend your stay if the rental is available.
If you are hosting the reception with us, the site fee includes 4 hours. If you would like to add an onsite ceremony, it includes 5 hours total.
Yes! We will make sure the event space is ready for you to decorate a minimum of two hours prior to the event start time.
The 15% service charge is only added to the venue related charges, NOT the vacation cottage rentals. All charges are subject to FL Sales Tax (currently 7%).
We strongly recommend hiring a Day of Planner at minimum, and will send you a list of our local favorites! You’ll need someone to coordinate the vendors, set up any décor you’re providing, and handle all the last-minute excitement on the day of.
The Monkey Bus is a private company that runs on Anna Maria and the surrounding areas (including Cortez!) for FREE! Uber and Lyft are available, and the Manatee County Area Transportation Busses run from 6am to 10pm daily. For those guests staying in our cottages, we have bicycles onsite that are included in the cottage rental. And don’t forget that Cortez Dockside Cottages has a five-slip boat dock, so transportation by boat is available as well!
Yes, Manatee County has a Noise Ordinance, and Cortez Dockside Cottages is very strict about compliance. Noise must free of profanity and vulgar language, kept under 80 decibels, and shut off by 10pm sharp.
You may absolutely hire a DJ or band, we have a great list for you to choose from.
Yes! We have parking on property for smaller groups, and a large parking lot just a few blocks away for our bigger events. We are happy to facilitate the rental of a golf cart and driver for transporting guests to and from the parking lot, or hire a valet for the evening on your behalf.
