These cottages are “gems” in the quaint Village of Cortez, Florida. A must place to stay!

We just completed a weeks stay in The Grouper cottage, and can verify all previous positive remarks. Awesome accommodations, great boathouse for gatherings, located in a real old established fishing village with many close restaurants. Heidi the owner/hostess, has not missed a thing to insure all our needs were met. Also perfect to block a few cottages for family gatherings or groups, as great space with many options.

As a reluctant traveler, I have to admit I plan our trips around the most important part… Where we will be staying ! So first I find a place to stay and then I plan the trip. Grouper cottage was perfect. We brought Piper the Corgi and we settled in. First time to ever bring our pup anywhere. It was wonderful… Made everything feel more like home. Heidi has thought of everything. She had every appliance you could think of, and every kind of a beach accessory… perfect for the beautiful beaches. And she does not scrimp … All of her appliances are top notch. A quick trip to a nearby Publix and we had everything we needed, including all the fixings for our piña colada’s ! Everything was very clean. She had big, lovely, white, fluffy towels, and plenty of them for the bathroom. And large beach towels as well . Along with all of her new and modern touches are the charming old school architectural features of the cottage. Very reminiscent of my first trip to Saint Pete nearly 60 years ago. I always worry about a comfortable bed. This bed was very comfortable. Kind of a crossover between a memory foam and a pillow top. Not too firm. Slept great -even though it was a queen and I am used to a king. That was a very nice surprise. I had the pleasure of sitting on the front porch and gabbing with her for about 30 minutes one afternoon. She is a real go-getter. She seems like one of those women that can just get everything accomplished. And she does it with purpose and joy. But her most important task seemed to be making sure that we were happy and content. If you text her, she will respond pretty much immediately. It takes a lot for me to be impressed by anyone these days. But I have to say she is truly impressive. I would come back here in a heartbeat. Thanks Heidi for such attention to detail. You have really done a great job !

We hosted a group of 13 friends from Nashville for our one year anniversary and this place was beyond amazing!!! Heidi is the best hostess and she has each cottage stocked with everything you could possibly need. Being able to hang out in the boat house, have coffee on the water and walk to all kinds of wonderful shops and restaurants is the absolute perfect setting for any occasion! Thank you so much Heidi, we will be back!!!

This is a great property! As of June 2023, there is plenty of parking for a trailer if you decide to launch a boat nearby. The docks on the property can accommodate anything you trailered and more. Literally a 5 minute walk is tide tables. A 2 minute boat ride and they have great blackened seasoning. In the other direction a 10 minute walk you have swordfish restaurant and it too has docks. Cross the Inter coastal and you have Bradenton pier with new public docks and plenty of restaurants to pick from. A5 minute boat ride and you’re at jewfish key with its sandbar and manatee area. Great place and good host. Cottage had plenty of Amenities. Extra towels, bar games, bicycles and a commercial ice maker with plenty of ice for the boat.

The perfect place to pay tribute to my husband with our friends and family. Fabulous location, breathtaking view, beautifully decorated cottages with all the comforts of home. It was amazing! THANK YOU Heidi and John!
